Collection: Khovar

Practiced in the Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand, Khovar is an art practiced during the marriage season.

Women of some villages paint their walls with black manganese clay, layer them with Kaolin clay and scrape designs usig the sgraffito technique with a fine comb. These are also known as combcut paintings.
