These handmade masks are prepared by artists of Cheriyal village. These are made using natutral materials and are completely eco friendly.
Preparing these masks is a time taking process involving number of processes as listed below:

- Scraping and sanding of coconut shell
- Preparing tamarind seed and saw dust paste
- Applying tamarind seed and saw dust paste to the mask, shaping it and allowing it to dry for 2-3 days
- Covering it with khadi cloth and applying a coat of white mud and tree gum mixture
The listed masks are prepared till this stage and are ready to be painted. You may use poster or acrylic paints to color and decorate this. A coat of varnish would be good to add glaze and protection.
