Artists practicing Bengal Pattachitra make their own colors from natural materials such as flowers, fruits, leaves and mud. The extracts are blended with a gum made from wood apple seeds. The colors are vibrant and long lasting. Decades old scrolls can be found on display with museums and collectors.
